If a student is unable to access the CAASPP/ELPAC platform to take the IAB/ICA, CAST, SBAC, CAA or ELPAC), it is likely due to a CALPADS enrollment-related issue.

Process

  1. Look the student up in CALPADS by SSID.
    • If they do not have an active enrollment at their current school, use these instructions to add a record to CALPADS using their information from Powerschool.
      • If there is a discrepancy between CALPADS and Powerschool (the dates don't match, the grade level is incorrect, etc) confirm with the Director, SIS before making any changes in CALPADS.
    • If there is a concurrent enrollment (i.e. the most recent previous enrollment has no exit date in CALPADS, add our enrollment to CALPADS (unless CCE is with another Alliance school), then reassign to Sandra, set as Tier 2, and add a note saying CCE found).
    • If the student has an active enrollment at their current school:
      • Log into CAASPP or ELPAC TOMS and search for the student by SSID. Navigate to Students --> Enter the SSID --> Select Search.
        • If the student appears in TOMS, follow the guidance here to determine the student's eligibility for a particular assessment and add the necessary test assignments.
        • If the student does not appear in TOMS (and has an active enrollment in CALPADS):
          • First determine if the enrollment was added within the last two days.  If within the last two days, enough time hasn't elapsed for TOMS to receive the updated enrollment.
          • If the enrollment began more than two days earlier, reach out to sis@laalliance.org to have the record re-posted.
